I have worked in the toy industry for over 7 years and have been lucky enough to be involved in the creation of hundreds of products for many of the industry’s top brands. While most of my day-to-day is spent fulfilling traditional Brand management duties like creating line plans, pitching to retail partners, and fostering enriching licensor-licensee relationships; I have been privileged enough to have greater ownership of the products I help create. From developing the play patterns of electronic plush, to composing music for featured social media spots, to co-writing rulesets of tabletop games and more, I have been involved with nearly every facet of product development.
As a lifelong fanboy of many different IP big and small, I try to approach every brand and every product with the same level of passion that I know fans have for their favorite toys.
Below you’ll see just a handful of the brands that I’ve worked on and the products that I have been lucky enough to assist in creating.
Pokémon
I have been a Pokémon fan my entire life. I don’t think there’s a single brand that meant more to me growing up than Pokémon; so to have been given the opportunity to join and manage the Jazwares’ Pokémon brand team in 2020 was nothing short of a dream come true.
My management of the Pokémon brand at Jazwares was as all-encompassing as I could make it. I wrote our TV commercials, composed music and directed voiceover for feature products, programmed electronic toys, and personally wrote copy for hundreds of items. I did everything I could to channel my passion for the brand into my work. I’m grateful to be able to say that I helped lead the Jazwares’ Pokémon team to consistent year over year growth and multiple TOTY nominations and wins during my time as Manager and Senior Manager of the brand from 2020-2024.
I’m grateful for my time on the Pokémon brand and even more grateful that I got to work with a team of exceptionally talented designers to bring so many characters to life in plush and plastic form.
Five Nights At Freddy’s
Of all of the brands that I managed during my time at Jazwares, Five Nights at Freddy’s holds a special place in my heart. Like Pokémon, I had a personal attachment to the brand before officially working on it. I was a fan of the franchise since the first game’s release and I have fond memories of playing the first game with my college roommates back in 2014.
Five Nights at Freddy’s was the first IP that I lead the license acquisition pitch for. Over 3 weeks, I served as the brand leader of a small team to assemble a pitch document complete with a multi-year plan for a figure and plush business. It was an exhilarating experience that thankfully resulted in Jazwares receiving the master license.
During my time as senior manager over the FNAF product line, I was able to act as the line’s “face” and was very active with the fan base across social media. This was not asked, nor expected of me in a professional capacity; I just wanted to ensure that the consumer base for this property knew that I was someone who deeply cared about the franchise and the fans. It was deeply important to me that I was able to show the fan community that passionate people worked on the property that they cared about.
Of every product line that I’ve worked on, Five Nights at Freddy’s is the one that I feel that I was able to have the largest impact on. From the creation of the pitch, to the 2025-2027 line architecture, to the outward marketing; I had a hand in everything.
Like all product lines that I’ve worked on, these products would not have come to life nearly as well without the incredible work and dedication of the entire team whom I worked with, especially the design teams.
When I created the architecture for the Five Nights at Freddy’s product line, I knew that I wanted to create a product line that appealed to older and younger fans.
Understanding the retail and consumer landscape, I saw that the demand for a large FNAF product line had never been greater. Above are just a few of the 100+ products that I helped develop.
Halo
Halo was the first brand I was given full management over during my career in the toy industry. I joined the team at the product line's earliest development stage and assisted in creating the foundations of the line architecture. When the Jazwares’ Halo toy line was announced at New York Toy Fair 2020, I was the first to pitch to retailers and super-fans alike; still one of the highlights of my career.
Beyond developing and managing the Halo brand for over a year, I performed auxiliary roles such as sound engineering feature products, directing photo shoots, and co-creating a multi-episode stop-motion animated series that promoted the line (See in videos below.)
Helping launch Jazwares' Halo toy line was a highly educational experience that taught me many invaluable lessons, but none more than that integrity and authenticity are the most invaluable attributes of a good toy line. I’m incredibly proud of the consumer-friendly, yet collector-quality products that the line produced.
Other Brands
During my time at Jazwares, I performed associate roles for WWE, Nerf, Cocomelon, and lead other brands such as Total Anime (Crunchyroll) and Stranger Things.
