25th Celebration 3” Silver Figures I was lucky enough to be the Brand Manager of the Pokémon brand during Pokémon’s 25th Anniversary year. To celebrate the occasion, we created collectable 3” silver figures of fan-favorite characters. Snooze Action Snorlax Snooze Action Snorlax was one of the most involved projects I was ever apart of on the Pokémon brand. From initial ideation to design execution, I worked alongside lead-designer Molly Womack to create a super-cuddly and super-fun feature plush that I’m still proud of to this day. I co-wrote the play pattern for Snooze Action Snorlax and its predecessor, Flame Action Charmander. I also directed Voice-Over, Sound Designed, and named both items as well.

The Pokémon Surprise Attack Game The Pokémon Surprise Attack Game was one of the most fun experiences I had working on the Pokémon brand. The team was given the opportunity to “gamify” our figural line, so we created a game that was easy to understand, yet highly strategic when playing at the highest difficulty level. In addition to writing the instruction manual and TV commercial for this project (below) I worked alongside the game’s lead designers, Paul Suteu and Scott Wilger to develop the gameplay flow.

The philosophy for our mainline plush was both simple, yet thoughtful: Bring the plush stylization that exists in the video game universe to life, but makes small tweaks that amplified the general appeal of each character. When we got the license for Five Nights at Freddy’s, most of the general populace had really started to warm up to the IP, thanks to the continuous success of the games and the recent success of the first film. With all that in mind, I knew that many regions around the world that were historically apprehensive to horror properties would be curious about potentially taking Five Nights at Freddy’s products; where previously that opportunity would not exist. I believed that plush, specifically plush that were not outright creepy in their designs would be the best “Trojan Horse” for those cautious markets. With the discerning nature of the Five Nights at Freddy’s fanbase, quality in authenticity came first, but small tweaks executed by our design team amplified the “cute” factor for wider appeal. One of the additions that I personally made to our approach on plush was the inclusion of glow-in-the-dark fabric for the eyes. This consideration was eventually extended to nearly every product in the line as a binding element that set us apart from previous and current partners. I can’t take any personal credit for the incredible execution of these plush from a visual and touch standpoint. All credit goes to designer Melissa Nawas, who lent her incomparable skills to make this part of the line come to life.

I’m a big fan of “World Of” product lines, especially ones that expand meaningfully over time. As it’s common for figures at the 4 and 5 inch scale to have features (aka “action figures”), I felt that it would be authentic for each figure to be able to do a “jumpscare” movement. To put the “world” in the World Of line, I emphasized the importance of including playsets as a part of our main line. These playsets, would effectively be dioramas that fans could both play and display their figures in.

Works - Toy - “World of Halo” 3.75” In-Scale figures
When I was first brought in as the Halo line was in its earliest stages of development, it was already decided that we would have two different scales of figures. Our 6” figures (the next image) would be the classic collectors figures and the 3.75” figures would be in-scale. With that guidence, the Halo team built out the incredible possibilities for an entirely in-scale line and I was lucky enough to plot out exactly which characters, vehicles, and weapons would be used as our first steps in this uncharted territory for the brand. I named the line the “World Of Halo” scale figures and collaborated with our entire team to make the name reflect the product. I wanted our products to capture the incredible blockbuster action-packed universe that Halo had and thankfully, retailers gave us the opportunity to present that excitement to consumers with incredible success. Since our 2020 launch the team has created dozens of awesome in-scale humans, aliens, super soldiers, weapons, and vehicles. Cabbage Patch Kids - Babble N Sing Plush The Babble N Sing Plush from Cabbage Patch Kids was one of the first feature items I ever co-programmed. My involvement in the development of this plush extended beyond writing the play pattern. I cast and directed the actor who voiced the plush and even composing the music featured in this plush too!

NERF - Elite Tactical Vest & Walking Targets When I was the Associate Brand Manager on the NERF Apparel & Target line at Jazwares I worked closely with our designers to assist in a new, more refined approach to our NERF product. Cocomelon - Musical Bedtime JJ Feature Doll I was lucky enough to play a role in the launch of the trend-setting and record-breaking Cocomelon line at Jazwares. Of all of the items released in the first wave of Cocomelon products, the Musical Bedtime JJ feature doll is my favorite. Like the rest of the Cocomelon line, it brought the great an enriching children’s programming to life and it was a ton of fun doing the sound design for this item.
